Expeditionary Fleet
Expeditionary Fleet is an Industrial Age Consulate technology for the Indians and Japanese. Researching it delivers one Ironclad, giving the land-focused civilizations access to a heavy warship without using the ordinary Dock production queue.

Research profile
Effect & research conditions
The Consulate research takes 30 seconds. The Ironclad arrives as a technology reward, so reserve population and identify navigable water before choosing it. The ship is a naval unit; it cannot reinforce land battles until it can support them from the coast or transport network. Check the map’s water access and the active Consulate roster before starting the research.
Research condition
Available to Indians and Japanese from the Industrial Age. Research it at Consulate.
When to research
Choose Expeditionary Fleet when an Ironclad can protect transports, contest a route or support a naval objective. On a land-focused map, compare the research with a more useful army or economic option. Prepare a safe route for the ship and use it before the opponent controls the water.
A naval shipment delivered through research
The technology converts Consulate time into a single heavy ship. Its value depends on reaching a body of water where the Ironclad can operate and on having a reason to contest that water. It may support a crossing or pressure a coastline, but it does not provide land units to protect the Consulate while the research runs. Scout the shore, reserve the required population and coordinate with existing ships so the Ironclad can join a fleet rather than enter enemy waters alone.
