The wagon does not gather while travelling and the resulting mine must be protected. Scout the deposit before using the shipment, then position workers and defenders so the new resource can be used safely. Because its source can depend on a revolt, team card or Native alliance, verify the active civilization’s route rather than assuming every player can order it from ordinary production.
Akan and Brazilian access routes
A Brazilian ally’s Bonifacio shipment may send a Gold Prospector Wagon at random. Alternatively, a player can establish an Akan Trading Post and research Akan Gold Economy to obtain access. These routes differ from the direct civilization shipments available to the United States, Mexicans and other named revolutions. Check the relevant Home City or alliance before counting on a wagon for a planned Gold expansion.
