Effect & research conditions

The research costs 250 Food and 300 Wood and takes 10 seconds. The four wagons arrive as a technology reward rather than being trained individually. Reserve population and scout legal Torp sites before researching so the wagons can be put to work promptly. The House of Vasa settlement connection is required for access.

Research condition

Available from the Exploration Age. Research it at Trading Post or Tambo on a House of Vasa palace.

When to research

Research when safe locations exist for the wagons and the economy can protect the new Torps. A group of four lets the player establish multiple economic sites, but scattered buildings can be difficult to defend. Choose locations near resources or within territory the army can cover, and avoid deploying every wagon into an exposed frontier at once.

Turn a settlement link into an economic expansion

Hanseatic League converts Food and Wood into four mobile construction units. Its value depends on having safe positions where the Torps can operate and enough Villagers or military support to defend the new sites. Scout each placement before the wagons arrive, then build the network in stages so one raid does not remove the entire investment. The technology’s short research time helps with timing, but it does not remove the travel or protection required for the Torps to contribute.
