Indonesia

Map character

Scout the generated layout for safe Food, Coin and Wood, then verify which of the coast, Trade Route and Native sites actually spawned nearby. Decide whether the map supports land expansion or a naval opening before placing a Dock. Check crossings and player count so the first Trading Post does not sit beyond a defendable route.

What to scout

Invest in water or route control only after scouting confirms that access is useful and can be protected. If the generated match offers no safe coast or nearby station, develop the starting resource pockets and move outward in stages. The map name does not fix settlement, Trade Route or resource positions, so re-evaluate after each scout report.

Scout the generated match rather than the label

Indonesia’s terrain and resource placements are generated with the selected game settings. Scout outward for Food, Coin, and Wood, then check whether a Trade Route, Native settlements, coast, or crossings are actually present. Build the opening around the current layout and player count instead of assuming a fixed expansion route from the map name.

Check access to coast and Trade Route

The generated layout determines whether a Trade Route, Native settlement, coast, or crossing is worth contesting. Scout the map before spending on a Dock or forward Trading Post, then compare the route with safe starting resources. Player count and map settings can change access, so use the current match layout instead of relying on a fixed opening.
