Role, availability & values
The wagon has 250 hit points, 4.0 speed and 20% siege resistance. Building the Lombard is only the first investment: resource conversion returns over time, so the wagon’s value depends on both a safe location and enough match time to use the structure.
Matchup & timing
Choose a defensible position near the economy, then start conversions early enough for their delayed return to matter. Keep the wagon protected en route and avoid relying on the Lombard’s income as an immediate answer to a military threat.
Italian age-up source and fast construction
The Italians can choose The Medici to advance to the Commerce Age, which supplies one Lombard Wagon. The wagon has 250 hit points, 4.0 speed and 20% siege resistance, and builds the Lombard three times faster than a Villager. Because the Lombard itself is free from the wagon, the player can establish the resource-conversion building without paying its normal construction investment; the economic conversion still requires resources to be deposited and time to return value. Place it near a protected economy where the player can make use of repeated conversions, rather than expecting an immediate resource payout during an emergency. The wagon’s Home City access and the age-up politician condition matter: it is not part of every Italian opening. The related Jagiellonian Legacy shipment can provide a Lombard Wagon when The Medici was chosen, making the age-up selection relevant to later access as well.
Free Italian Lombard placement
The Lombard Wagon is an Italian construction unit from Knights of the Mediterranean that builds a Lombard without its normal resource cost. It has 250 hit points, four speed and 20% siege resistance. After placement, the Lombard converts invested resources over time and can train Outlaws and Mercenaries. The wagon itself does not gather or fight; its value comes from establishing the economic building safely.
Protect the wagon and conversion period
Choose a position inside a defendable base and send the wagon only when the Lombard’s conversion and production will support a longer plan. The free structure still takes travel time and the resource conversion is delayed, so it cannot replace an immediate military response. Keep the wagon protected en route and defend the completed building. Check the Italian access card or shipment that provides it, then invest only resources the economy can spare while maintaining ordinary production.
