Marauding Musketeer

Marauding Musketeer is a Knights of the Mediterranean treasure guardian based on the Musketeer but with a distinct, mobile combat profile. It is not an ordinary trainable infantry unit. Its shorter ranged minimum distance and high movement speed make it a different map encounter from the standard Musketeer.

Combat values

Scout before engaging and bring enough force to defeat the guardian without splitting units across the map. Its speed and 24 line of sight let it engage or reveal an approach sooner than an ordinary foot Musketeer, while its 185 hit points are far lower than the Outlaw Musketeer guardian. Use the treasure reward and map position to decide whether the detour is worth the time.

A distinct treasure-guardian profile

Marauding Musketeer reuses the Musketeer name and visual family, but its 185 hit points, 7.0 speed and 24 line of sight make it a different encounter from the 150-hit-point standard Musketeer and the 450-hit-point Outlaw Musketeer. It is a map opponent, not a replacement available in the player’s ordinary infantry roster.

Range and approach

Its ranged attack reaches from range 4 to 12 and fires every three seconds. The shorter minimum distance means it can attack at closer spacing than the standard unit’s twelve-range profile; its movement speed also makes the approach more dynamic. Keep the force together and check the guardian before sending a fragile ranged group to claim the treasure.
