Effect & research conditions
The research costs 325 Food and takes 30 seconds. A House of Wettin settlement connection is required; a post on another site does not grant access. The discount applies to Age-ups and Wonders, not ordinary unit production. Apply it before paying for the affected advancement or Wonder, and check the current interface for the reduced price.
Research condition
Available from the Exploration Age. Research it at Trading Post or Tambo on a House of Wettin palace.
When to research
Research early enough that a later Age advancement or Wonder can benefit. It is most useful when the player expects to advance again or construct a Wonder and has time to recover the initial Food cost. If immediate defense is needed or progression is far away, the research and settlement investment may be better spent elsewhere.
Plan progression before spending
Marriage Politics is a preparation technology: its benefit depends on making an eligible Age-up or Wonder purchase after the research is active. Decide which progression choice the economy can afford, then compare the saved 15% with the 325 Food and research wait. The discount can preserve resources for units after advancing, but does not speed the research itself or provide an immediate shipment. Secure the House of Wettin site so it remains available during setup.
