Effect & research conditions

Research costs 1,200 Coin and takes 40 seconds. Complete Branicki Architecture first. The effects apply to three separate targets: Villagers chopping trees, the Rada’s Wood trickle and building durability. The gathering increase does not apply to mines or other resources. Check whether the Rada is currently set to generate Wood before valuing its passive bonus.

Research condition

Available to Cossack Hetmanate from the Fortress Age. Research it at Rada. It requires Branicki Architecture.

When to research

Research when the Cossack Hetmanate has a sustained Wood demand, active tree-gathering Villagers and buildings that need to withstand pressure. The large Coin cost and prerequisite make it a planned economic investment. If the army needs immediate reinforcements or workers are not gathering Wood, delay the research until its effects can operate for long enough.

A three-part architecture investment

Mazepa Architecture combines an active gathering bonus with a passive resource increase and stronger buildings. These effects have different payback conditions: Villagers must be chopping, the Rada must be assigned to Wood, and buildings must survive attacks for the hit-point bonus to matter. Plan the Branicki prerequisite and 40-second research while the economy is stable, then use the extra Wood to support structures or units. Avoid counting the bonus as a universal increase to gathering rates.
