Mediterranean

Mediterranean starts teams on separate coastal land masses with limited nearby resources. Every player receives a Dock Wagon, while the surrounding sea offers Fish, Whales, Treasures and islands; two Trade Routes and Royal Houses make water and route control central objectives.

Mediterranean

Map character

Use the Dock Wagon to establish water access, then scout neighboring islands and route stations before committing to a large fleet. Starting land resources deplete quickly, so naval control can support fishing, transport and expansion. Royal Houses add alliance choices, but ships need a landing or route plan to turn sea control into useful map presence.

What to scout

Expand before the starting land runs short, and protect the route or island that supports the next stage of the economy. A land-only opening may run out of natural resources; an unsupported fleet can be cut off from shore. Pair naval production with ground troops that can secure a landing and defend route posts.

Sea control supports the economy

Teams spawn on separate land masses along the Mediterranean coast, with limited natural resources near each start. The surrounding sea contains Fish, Whales and Treasures, and islands provide expansion points. All players begin with a Dock Wagon. Two lucrative Trade Routes and Royal Houses make control of water and route stations central objectives.

Expand before resources run out

Starting land resources are limited and deplete quickly, so scout neighboring land masses and protect a wider economy. Use the Dock Wagon to establish water access, but pair ships with a landing or route plan so naval control creates useful map presence. A land-only opening may run short; an unsupported fleet can be cut off. Mediterranean was added to Definitive Edition in update 13.18214.
