Role, availability & values
It can be trained or obtained through a Chinese Castle, Blockhouse, Fort or Fuchuan under the recorded rules. The group uses four population, costs 230 Food and 170 Coin, and takes 29 seconds. Both unit types are mounted, so the force can reposition quickly but needs answers to anti-cavalry.
Matchup & timing
Use it to pressure an exposed flank or chase a force that cannot protect itself from ranged cavalry. Avoid taking a direct fight into anti-cavalry infantry, and add a frontline or artillery support for targets the mounted group cannot handle. Reserve population and Coin before starting production.
Keep the two cavalry types together
The Chinese Commerce Age group combines two Keshiks and two Steppe Riders, costs 230 Food and 170 Coin, takes four population, and trains in 29 seconds. It can come from the Castle, Blockhouse, Fort, or Fuchuan. Its mobility helps it reposition, but anti-cavalry is a clear threat; support it with units that can absorb or answer a mounted counter.
Screen the ranged cavalry from anti-cavalry
The four-unit group is useful for mobile pressure, but both Keshiks and Steppe Riders are vulnerable to specialized anti-cavalry. Keep them together, use their range to avoid unnecessary melee contact, and retreat before a counter force can surround them. Its 230 Food and 170 Coin cost should be compared with the Chinese army’s other Fortress or Commerce options.
Cost, population and training history
The current profile costs 230 Food and 170 Coin, uses four population and trains in 29 seconds. Before the Definitive Edition it cost 495 Food and 270 Wood, used six population, took 30 seconds and did not use the current Coin cost. Training time was reduced to 25 seconds before update 13.58326, then the current value became 29 seconds. This package therefore changed both its resource mix and army-space commitment across releases; use the value set matching the installed version rather than combining the old Wood cost with the current Coin price.
