Function & construction
Asian Villagers and Castle Rickshaws can construct a Castle. It costs 250 Wood and 50 Coin, takes 55 seconds to build and has a limit of five. Its attack gives nearby protection, while the artillery roster and shipment access depend on the civilization and card.
Placement & timing
Build it when an Asian artillery unit is needed and the site can be defended. Put it near a useful approach or objective, keep mobile troops ready to deter siege, and send shipments there only when the card allows it.
Asian artillery roster and edition changes
The Asian Castle is an artillery production and defensive building, not the European Castle with the same name. In The Asian Dynasties it costs 250 Wood and 100 Coin, takes 60 seconds to build and grants 72 XP; Definitive Edition reduces the Coin cost to 50, construction time to 55 seconds and build reward to 60 XP. Its destruction gives 144 XP in the older version and 120 in Definitive Edition. The Castle trains or upgrades civilization-specific artillery and can receive eligible Home City shipments. It has 3,000 hit points and 32 line of sight, with a defensive attack and space for a garrison. Definitive Edition added Stealth detection; update 13088 set its Shock troop multiplier to 1.3×, while the earlier profile listed 1.5×. Place it to protect a useful approach and keep mobile units nearby to deter siege. The Castle’s artillery roster and upgrades depend on the Asian civilization, so check its unit page before investing in a planned composition.
Age III role and defense versions
The Asian Castle is available from the Exploration Age and may be built up to five times. It costs 250 Wood and 50 Coin in Definitive Edition, takes 55 seconds to construct and has 3,000 hit points. Its 30-damage ranged attack fires every three seconds at range 24; it is strong against Cavalry and Shock troops but deals reduced damage to Siege units and Villagers. The Castle can garrison up to 20 eligible units, attack nearby enemies, train or upgrade artillery and receive permitted Home City shipments. Older The Asian Dynasties data lists a 100-Coin cost, a 60-second build and a 1.5× multiplier against Shock troops; Definitive Edition moved the standard Castle to 1.3× with update 13088 and added Stealth detection. Mountain Castles retain their own multiplier rule. Use the structure to protect an artillery production point, not as a substitute for field units that must intercept siege.
Asian artillery production and defensive coverage
The Asian Castle costs 250 Wood and 50 Coin, takes 55 seconds to build and has a limit of five. Its 3,000 hit points, line of sight 32 and 20-unit garrison make it a durable defensive and production site. The ranged attack deals 30 damage at range 24 every three seconds, with bonuses against Cavalry and Shock troops. It can train and upgrade artillery, receive Home City shipments, and has a 100-damage anti-siege attack at range 40. The Mountain Castle upgrade unlocks a separate 60-damage area Bombard attack at range 24, so do not assume that siege option is available on an unupgraded Castle. Its Asian Villager or Castle Rickshaw construction route makes the site useful on maps where a forward artillery position can be protected. Keep an escort nearby and choose a location that can support the army after completion rather than building solely for its hit points.
