Regicide

Regicide is a mode introduced in The Baltic Powers in which each side fields a Regent whose survival is central to victory. It makes protection and target selection part of the standard economy-and-army contest.

How it works

The Regent is a unique objective-bearing unit rather than an ordinary reinforcement. Losing it can decide the match, so the mode rewards escort, scouting and controlled engagements; details such as starting forces follow the selected match settings.

Player decision

Keep the Regent with a force that can deter raids, and avoid sending it ahead of support. Scout for the opposing Regent and create an opening before committing to a direct attack.

The Regent is the decisive objective

Regicide is a game mode introduced with The Baltic Powers. Each side has a Regent, and the mode centers on keeping that unit alive while finding an opportunity to eliminate the opponent’s Regent. The hero is both a strategic asset and a target: losing it can decide the contest even when the rest of the army remains intact. Starting details follow the selected match settings.

Screen, scout and choose the engagement

Keep the Regent within reach of a force that can intercept raiders without placing it in the path of artillery or area attacks. Scout the enemy’s route before committing the army; an attack is strongest when the opposing escort is separated or distracted. Defeating ordinary units can create an opening, but protecting the Regent remains a separate task throughout the match. These rules apply to Regicide, not every mode.
