Reindeer is a huntable animal in Age of Empires III that supplies Food from its carcass. Its cold-region habitat makes it a familiar resource on northern maps, but availability and placement depend on the generated layout.

Role, availability & values
Settlers hunt Reindeer and gather Food from the carcass; the recorded data supports up to eight gatherers. The herd is finite and is not a livestock unit that can be placed in a Pen. Its position can draw workers away from the Town Center.
Training & availability
Winter Wonderland custom map; event-map availability depends on the enabled custom content; 400 Food per animal; up to 8 gatherers.
Matchup & timing
Use a nearby herd for early Food and scout a replacement source before it runs out. Keep the route covered when workers are far from the base, and avoid placing all gathering on a single exposed herd.
Northern hunt and resource transition
Reindeer provides Food from a finite carcass and supports up to eight gatherers in the recorded profile. It is huntable, not livestock, so it cannot be stored in a Pen. Gather it while the herd is safe and close enough to defend, then prepare replacement Food before workers are forced to move farther from the Town Center.
Rotate workers as the herd is depleted
The Reindeer herd is a finite Food source and supports up to eight gatherers in the recorded profile. It cannot be moved into a Livestock Pen. Gather while the route is safe, then transition the workers to another hunt or food building before they make a long, exposed trip. Map generation determines the herd’s distance from the settlement.
