Supreme Ultimate Fist
Supreme Ultimate Fist is a Fortress Age Chinese Monastery technology that increases Shaolin Master damage by 300%, with Roundhouse Attack explicitly excluded. It costs 350 Food and 350 Wood and takes 15 seconds to research. This is a large unit-specific damage increase, but the exception matters: it should not be read as improving every Shaolin Master attack. The affected Masters still need to reach their targets and remain protected in combat.

Effect & research conditions
Research at the Monastery before deploying Shaolin Masters into an engagement where their affected attacks can connect. Keep the Masters protected while they approach, and distinguish ordinary damage from the Roundhouse Attack, which is not improved by this technology. The bonus does not increase other Chinese units’ damage.
Research condition
Chinese; Fortress Age; researched at the Monastery; costs 350 Food and 350 Wood; 15-second research time; Shaolin Master damage +300%, except Roundhouse Attack.
When to research
Choose it when Shaolin Masters will be a major part of the Chinese force and the 700-resource cost fits the Fortress Age plan. It offers little immediate value without the affected unit and is less useful if opponents can prevent the Masters from reaching combat. Combine the upgrade with scouting and an appropriate frontline.
The Roundhouse Attack exception is important
Supreme Ultimate Fist increases Shaolin Master damage by 300%, but the Roundhouse Attack is explicitly excluded. Read the effect as a major improvement to the Master’s other damage, not as a universal multiplier for every move. When assessing the result in a fight, separate the ordinary attack from the excluded ability and remember that damage only matters when the unit can reach and hit a target. The research does not improve other Chinese units or turn Shaolin Masters into a ranged force. Keep them protected during approach and use the upgrade where their affected attacks can be applied.
Research when Shaolin Masters are part of the plan
The Chinese Fortress Age technology costs 350 Food and 350 Wood, takes 15 seconds and is researched at the Monastery. Its low research time does not remove the opportunity cost of 700 resources, so compare it with the units and upgrades needed to protect the Masters. If few Shaolin Masters are present, the specialized bonus may contribute less than a broader army investment. If they form a meaningful part of the force, research before committing them to a planned engagement and support them with a screen that can keep enemies from surrounding them. The Roundhouse exception remains in effect after research.
