Tokala Ceremony

Tokala Ceremony is an Industrial Age Lakota Community Plaza option that spawns Tokala Soldiers. It provides a named late-game unit reward rather than an army-wide statistic increase.

Effect & access

Villagers assigned to the Plaza perform the ceremony and bring Tokala Soldiers into the army. Check the Tokala Soldier entry for its role and matchups; the ceremony’s value depends on whether that unit answers a current need.

When to perform it

Use it when Tokala Soldiers will strengthen the next engagement and the economy can spare the assigned workers. Keep them with the force that can support their approach and protect the Plaza while it produces the reward.

Industrial Age unit production

The Lakota can perform Tokala Ceremony at the Community Plaza in the Industrial Age. It spawns Tokala Soldiers while population space remains. With 25 Villagers at the Plaza, one Tokala Soldier appears every 20 seconds. This is a continuing unit source rather than a single delivery, but it requires a large workforce assignment and room under the population cap.

A late-game Plaza decision

Compare Tokala Soldiers with the units needed for the matchup before committing Plaza workers. The ceremony is more useful when the army can absorb steady reinforcements and the Plaza remains protected; it is less useful when workers are urgently needed for resources or population blocks the spawn. Before Definitive Edition, the ceremony was called War Song Dance. Check the Tokala Soldier entry for its role and matchups.
