Function

Each civilization has a different ceremony menu and unlock timing. Assigned Villagers contribute work to the active ceremony but stop gathering resources while they are there; assigning more workers can complete its effect faster under the Plaza rules. The reward comes from the selected ceremony, not from the building acting as a normal Barracks.

Placement & timing

Use a ceremony to meet a defined need such as early defense, reinforcement, recovery or siege support. Compare its timing with the value of keeping those Villagers on the economy, and return workers when the immediate effect is complete. Protect the Plaza and its workers so an enemy raid does not interrupt the plan.

Ceremonies and worker assignment

The Community Plaza is a 100-Wood Exploration Age building shared by Aztecs, Haudenosaunee and Lakota. It takes 20 seconds to build, has 1,200 hit points, a 3-by-3 footprint and a limit of one. Villagers and, depending on the civilization, Healers, Warrior Priests or Priestesses can be assigned to ceremonies. The active ceremony supplies a civilization-specific effect such as summoning units, improving the army, healing idle troops or providing siege support. Assigned workers stop gathering resources, so the Plaza trades immediate economy for a timed benefit. More participants can increase ceremony progress under the building’s rules, but this also removes more labor from Food, Wood or Coin. Each civilization has a different menu and unlock timing; use the ceremony entry for exact effects rather than assuming the same option exists across all three. Choose an effect to meet a defined need, return workers to the economy when the immediate benefit is complete and protect the Plaza because it is the only one allowed. Its Big Button technologies add another civilization-specific use.

Ceremony timing and worker economy

Start a ceremony when its completion timing will affect a specific fight or economic need. Assigning additional Villagers speeds the effect but removes them from resource gathering, so use only as many as the situation justifies. Each of the three civilizations has different ceremonies and bonuses; verify the active menu before relying on a unit summon or healing effect. Once the ceremony has produced its value, return workers to Food, Wood or Coin. The Plaza is limited to one and is vulnerable while its workers are occupied, so place it inside the settlement’s defensive area.

Civilization-specific ceremony choices

The Aztec, Haudenosaunee and Lakota versions share the Plaza but not every ceremony. The available menu and unlock timings determine whether the building supplies units, improves combat, heals idle troops or provides other support. Big Button technologies add another set of choices. Check which ceremony is currently available, estimate how many workers are required and account for the gathering time lost while they are assigned. A ceremony should answer a clear short-term need; afterwards, return workers to the economy and protect the Plaza so the investment continues to serve the civilization.

Plaza limit and ceremony support

The Plaza’s limit of one makes placement important for all three civilizations. Keep it inside a defensible area, and use the ceremony menu to address a current army or settlement need.

Ceremonies and worker assignment

The Community Plaza is a support building used by the Aztecs, Haudenosaunee and Lakota. Villagers assigned there contribute work to a selected ceremony, while Healers, Warrior Priests or Priestesses can also participate under the relevant rules. More assigned workers can complete the effect faster, but they stop gathering resources during that time. Ceremony options differ by civilization and unlock timing: they can summon units, strengthen an army, heal idle troops or provide other effects. The Plaza also provides Big Button technologies in the recorded profile, so it connects temporary ceremony work with permanent civilization choices.

Balance ceremony timing with the economy

The Plaza costs 100 Wood, takes about 20 seconds to build and is limited to one. Its large worker capacity can accelerate an effect, but assigning too many Villagers may leave the economy short of Food, Wood or Coin. Choose a ceremony for a concrete need—defense, reinforcement, recovery or siege support—then return workers when its immediate value has been realized. Protect both the building and its assigned workers; a raid can interrupt the ceremony and waste time. The Aztec, Haudenosaunee and Lakota ceremony menus are not interchangeable, and Definitive Edition changed the former Fire Pit system, so check the civilization and version.
