Effect & access
The exact War Chief depends on the civilization. The ceremony strengthens that hero and provides a return point through the Community Plaza, making the building’s safety relevant when the hero falls in battle.
When to perform it
Use it when the War Chief is likely to remain central to scouting or combat and can benefit from the stronger profile. Protect the Plaza so it remains a useful respawn location, and keep the hero’s route clear of enemy pressure.
War Chief durability and revival
Aztecs, Haudenosaunee, Inca and Lakota can perform War Chief Ceremony from the Exploration Age at the Community Plaza. Each Villager assigned raises the civilization’s War Chief hit points by 3%; 25 Villagers provide a 78% bonus. The ceremony can also revive a defeated War Chief at the Plaza with full hit points; revival takes at least 10 seconds.
Worker assignment changes the bonus
Warrior Priests can work alongside Villagers: the listed combination of 15 Villagers and 10 Warrior Priests gives a 111% hit-point bonus. The available workforce depends on civilization and match state, so check the ceremony panel before relying on a specific value. Keep the Plaza protected while the hero revives and account for the delay before it rejoins the army. The earlier name was War Chief Dance.
