Overview

Four standalone single-player scenarios introduced with Knights of Cross and Rose. They focus on individual moments involving the House of Lancaster and the Knights Templar, with performance medals and optional Conqueror challenges.

Mission objectives

Select a battle from the Proving Grounds, complete its mission objectives, and replay it to improve the medal result or attempt the Conqueror challenge.

How this mode differs from a campaign

Historical Battles are four independent Proving Grounds scenarios, not chapters in a continuous campaign story. Their objectives recreate a focused battle or defense, and performance medals reward completion quality as well as victory. Optional mission conditions can activate Conqueror Mode, which raises the challenge. Select Agincourt, Towton, Safed or Montgisard for its objectives and battle-specific advice.

Scenarios and mission guide

The House of Lancaster must break out of French pressure by defeating three French divisions while protecting its base.

  • Towton 1461

After the Lancastrian defeat at Towton, defend allied towns and the stronghold against successive Yorkist attacks.

Knights Templar

  • Safed 1266

Keep the Fortress of Safed standing through a siege, gathering stone for repairs before striking at the besieging force.

  • Montgisard 1177

Reclaim four Sacred Sites around Jerusalem and defend the capital against the Ayyubid army.
