Variant civilizations and The Crucible
Released on November 4, 2025, Dynasties of the East adds four playable variants: Golden Horde, Macedonian Dynasty, Sengoku Daimyo and Tughlaq Dynasty. It also introduces The Crucible, a repeatable single-player mode built around defending a Wonder through changing encounters, choosing Boons and developing persistent Perks between runs. It does not add a connected campaign.
Maps and biomes
The expansion includes eight skirmish maps—Craters, Canyon, Ocean Gateway, Cliffsanity, Nomadic Tarns, Nomadic Ridges, Michi and Dungeon—and six biomes. Map pages describe their terrain; The Crucible entry covers its run structure and progression.
