Overview
A Mongols variant centered on the Golden Tent, a combat-focused Khan and multiple Ovoos. It exchanges some nomadic complexity for a centralized force and large army decisions.
Use in play
Use the Khan and elite guard as the army core, but keep the Golden Tent and Ovoo economy secure. Its cavalry benefits from open ground and coordinated charges.
Ovoo and mobile economy
Golden Horde has multiple Ovoos and a Golden Tent rather than following every Mongol mechanic unchanged. Ovoos provide access to Stone-based benefits, while the civilization’s economy and production choices encourage active placement and map control. Check the exact building and technology pages for which Mongol-line features were retained or replaced.
Army identity
The Khan and cavalry-centered options support a mobile force that can threaten exposed positions. Mobile pressure still needs answers to Spearmen, ranged support and fortified defenses. Keep the army coordinated with production and avoid assuming that the base Mongols’ pack-and-move choices operate identically for this variant.
