Saint Tobias: The One-Armed Monk
This life presents the one-armed Saint Tobias as Vale Sangora's most renowned patron.
A pious, humble man who sought neither power nor influence, he received both by divine ordination.
As a humble brother he wandered the valley learning its folk and mysteries until his path crossed
a warrior shielding the Sangorans — none other than Saint Mihai, Svartrau Cathedral's patron.
They became firm allies; Tobias's familiarity with the valley and gift for winning hearts proved a boon,
and he converted the pagan warrior to Christ. Their quest ended in tragedy in the foul swamps near Maragir:
together they slew a monstrous ghast — though it cost Tobias his arm and Mihai his life.
Tobias bore his friend's body to Svartrau, where Mihai was named the Cathedral's patron;
the monk lived on for years leading the valley's communities, his miracles earning him sainthood
as the valley's main patron to this day.
