Best Builds

These eleven loadouts, gathered from community creators, cover every stage of Minecraft Dungeons II — from your first quest to the hardest post-campaign content. Tier letters here reflect the source site's read of each creator's video, not lab-tested rankings. First, the damage rules that make all of them work.

How damage stacking works

Dummy testing from The Dungeon Fish (October 1, 2026) established the game's buff math: Strength multiplies damage ×2, a critical hit multiplies it ×1.5, and Warrior Drums multiplies criticals by ×2.33. Grindstone adds a flat bonus per hit, and criticals combined with Strength multiply to ×3. Bonuses from different families multiply together, while bonuses within the same family only add — so the strongest builds spread modifiers across as many different families as possible. Weapon waves such as the Redstone Wrecker's built-in wave take Strength into account but do not benefit from criticals.

Starting out — A tier

Gear: Early Sculker Claws, Hivemind Hardhat.

How it works: Beat the Witch in Howling Woods, then run "The Witch Revived" from her respawn stone. That rematch pays out the unique Sculker Claws, normally a final-act weapon, giving you an endgame-grade weapon almost immediately. Lead with jump attacks and let the Hivemind Hardhat's +70% positive-status duration stretch your buffs.

Weakness: The rematch version of the Witch hits far harder than the story fight, so come prepared.

Campaign — S tier

Unlimited-arrow archer (rifeye). An Awesomeaxe rolled with Strength turns a 136-damage arrow into 544, because the axe's on-hit Strength roughly doubles everything. Critical Quiver plus critical-chance rolls refund arrows on crits, keeping the quiver perpetually full.

Weakness: You depend on the Awesomeaxe's Strength proc to empower the arrows, so fights slow down whenever it refuses to trigger.

Endgame builds

Lightning katana crit (Dear Gamer) — A tier. Pride of the Plains crits for roughly 40,000 damage, killing bosses in two or three hits. Look for a Soul Storm drop carrying +25% melee crit damage and +30% on all crits.

Weakness: Relies on a specific high-roll drop, so it can take a while to assemble.

Awesomeaxe crit / Warding Chimes (Mattitude) — S tier. Mattitude cleared every boss on Hard with this setup. The Awesomeaxe's Strength-on-hit doubles hits while Fighter's Flute and Warrior Drums stack criticals; the Hivemind Hardhat stretches Warding Chimes toward near-permanent invulnerability.

Weakness: Heavy soul spending means you can run dry at the worst moment. See the full breakdown on Endgame Builds.

Awesomeaxe one-shot (rifeye) — S tier. A full-health burst build: 102,000–107,000 damage on the training dummy. It stacks Dauntless Greaves (+60% vs full-health enemies), Dreamruler Cover (+40% to the primary target), Twisted Warden Blindfold and Monstrosity Stompers (+45% melee crit each), and triggers Dynamo with a roll — but it first needs the axe's own Strength proc from an opening hit to reach those numbers.

Weakness: Everything hinges on the target being at full health and on the first hit landing; the second hit of a combo is far less impressive.

Sculker's Bane Lightning Surge dagger (mintybruhh) — A tier. A one-hit 38,489-damage showcase built on the fact that a level III Lightning Surge wave deals 90% weapon damage on every other hit of the Sculker's Bane's fast combo.

Weakness: Single-target focused; crowds are not its specialty.

Redstone Wrecker potion engine (The Dungeon Fish) — A tier. Cleared every boss on Hard. Bottomless Brew plus two copies of Ancient Alchemy return 120 souls for every potion drunk, fully funding Fighter's Flute, Warrior Drums, and Turtle Master's Mandolin on an endless loop.

Weakness: You must keep chugging potions to stay funded; if you stop drinking, the whole engine stalls. Full details on Endgame Builds.

Clobberer crit stack (The Dungeon Fish) — S tier. Roughly 15,600 DPS by deliberately spreading modifiers across different families — since families multiply with each other — rather than stacking one stat.

Weakness: Requires carefully chosen gear from several different modifier families, so it comes together slowly.

Prime jump — Prime Enchanter's Gauntlets (The Dungeon Fish) — S tier. Each jump lands for 16,000–25,000 damage on Hard, applying fire, lightning, and the Shocked status (+25% damage taken to the enemy). The Harp Crossbow is never even fired — its +50% damage against negative-status enemies applies to the gauntlets' jumps.

Weakness: Aerial playstyle that demands constant repositioning; you are exposed between jumps.

Point-blank poison bow — Paragon (Prymron Games, via Pitcch) — S tier. One charged shot nearly empties the Copper Monstrosity's health bar. The Scoundrel Blazer's +100% close-range bonus stacks with the Paragon's own 30%, and a 3-player party reportedly reached over 2 million damage on a single arrow.

Weakness: You must fight at point-blank range to keep the bonus active, which puts you inside every boss's danger zone.

Once your gear is ready, Soul Storms are the fastest route to triple-modifier endgame pieces.
