Overview

Reach Kurikara before the Taira can overwhelm the defenders, then turn the city into a staging ground for a counterattack. The palace is the key defense; later, break through the Taira commanders and take Kyoto.

Player approach

Kurikara opens with a small force and a Trade Cart. Defeat the first blocking group, capture the purple town, then complete the Orange camp and Commander objectives while opening the river through the lighthouse.

Step-by-step plan

Clear the small force east of the bridge and move directly to the palace, avoiding Green patrols that are not required yet. Use the captured town and resources to build a compact force. Destroy the four Orange camps and eliminate the five red Commanders, then capture the northern lighthouse to open naval access along the river. Keep a reserve at the captured town while the army moves between camps.

Risks and adjustments

The Trade Cart and Villagers are vulnerable during the first march. Avoid fighting optional Green patrols before taking the city, and do not overlook the Commander near the lighthouse.
