Overview

Organize Vietnamese resistance and reclaim independence from Ming rule.

Scenario details

Organize Vietnamese resistance and reclaim independence from Ming rule. Mission order and scenario notes: 1. The Dai Viet Uprising — Le Loi’s early rebellion depends on scattered villages and two powerful Vietnamese families. Free the occupied settlements while protecting both allies from Ming patrols; the remote Holy Artifact offers an additional reward 2. The Mountain Siege — Le Loi and Le Lai hold a mountain stronghold while the Ming press in from several directions. Clear a safe passage east and protect the retreating rebels; keeping Le Loi with the evacuation force is essential to completing the escape 3. The Battle at Hanoi — With a larger rebel force, Le Loi moves to seize the old capital and cut off Ming control in the south. Gather local support and siege Hanoi’s central defenses, then meet the mountain rebels who can join the struggle 4. Reaching South — Le Loi’s army pushes south toward a heavily defended fortress. The scenario’s victory condition differs between the original HD release and Definitive Edition: the HD version replaces the enemy Wonder, while Definitive Edition captures three intact gunpowder depots 5. A Three-Pronged Attack — Le Loi coordinates three separated forces to cut supply routes and take the strategically important city of Nghe An. Secure the city’s Monument, then bring the campaign’s decisive field battle to General Wang Tong 6. The Final Fortress — After surviving the last field engagement, Le Loi takes command of allied bases and prepares to storm Dong Do. The Ming stronghold is heavily fortified and can mount a large late counterattack, so clearing its Castles ends the occupation Use the named objectives, starting setup, and mission order in this entry to distinguish it from the standard skirmish rules.
