Overview

After the Mapuche alliance is forged, Lautaro gathers the resources and reinforcements needed to assault Fort Tucapel. Liberated Cunco villages provide a foothold; Poya requests and the passing Spanish convoy can unlock useful upgrades and siege support.

Player approach

The Battle of Tucapel is a buildup mission before the siege of Fort Tucapel. Each liberated Cunco village provides Villagers, production, and resources, so expand through the villages before committing to the fort.

Step-by-step plan

Move the starting army east to free the first Cunco village. Draw its Spanish Guards away from the tower, defeat them, and take control of the village’s buildings and workers. Repeat at the accessible settlements around Caupolicán’s base, using the added production to strengthen the army and economy. Once the recruited force can protect siege, assemble the assault on Fort Tucapel.

Risks and adjustments

The Spanish auxiliaries can threaten mounted units, and villages have guarded towers. Do not rush the fort with only the initial army; each captured village is part of the intended buildup.
