Overview
Francisco de Almeida and Prince Juan must hold Toro against Aragon before turning the tide toward Zamora. Rally scattered soldiers and remove the three enemy camps, then break the Isabelista hold through military conquest or by destroying its food supply.
Player approach
The Old World begins with a small force and Prince Juan, who can recruit nearby groups from King Afonso’s army. Gather those allies and use Toro’s Monk to heal before attacking Aragonese camps.
Step-by-step plan
Defeat the opening Aragonese force while keeping Prince Juan alive, then take the army to the Monk inside Toro for healing. Use Juan to scout the area and recruit the three nearby groups first, then bring a Light Cavalry escort to uncover the two farther groups. Once the army is large enough, attack the nearest Aragonese camp and build momentum toward the next objective instead of splitting recruits across the map.
Risks and adjustments
Juan is not required to survive but is the strongest scout and recruiter, so losing him slows the opening substantially. Do not send him alone into the first camps; heal the gathered force before taking on the next fortified position.
