Overview

Challenging a Thalassocracy requires defeating Tambralinga and Srivijaya, with Srivijaya’s repeated fleet raids making coastal safety a priority. Remove nearby threats, then build a navy able to protect the economy and the final landings.

Plan and execution

Use the starting force to clear exposed Tambralinga positions on your island where possible, then grow the economy toward Imperial Age. Prioritize naval upgrades and keep a reserve near the coast against Galleons, Fast Fire Ships, and Demolition Ships. Remove Srivijaya’s island citadel to reduce pressure, then take Tambralinga’s western island. Add Ballista Elephants and Monk support for the land assaults, with the fleet screening transports and shore approaches.

Risks and adaptation

Do not assume the enemy’s resource behavior matches older scenario versions. Demolition Ships can punish dense fleets, so spread ships and keep a counterforce near vulnerable shore buildings.
