Overview

When an opponent changes unit type to answer your army, begin producing an appropriate counter before the new force becomes large. Keep enough of the original army to stay safe while adding the right production buildings and research.

How to execute the plan

Confirm the opponent’s main unit and supporting line, then add the production building and counter that answer the actual threat. Move vulnerable units to safety while the first counter wave trains; use surviving troops to screen, raid, or cover the new production.

Risks and response

A few counter units may not change the fight immediately, and the opponent may switch again. Avoid overreacting to one sighting, continue scouting, and stop reinforcing a unit line that has become an expensive liability.
