Devotion conversion-resistance response
Devotion reduces the conversion threat against the units most costly to replace, making it valuable when enemy Monks threaten cavalry, elephants, or siege. Research it when conversions are already changing the fight.

Overview

Plan and execution
Add Devotion once the opponent fields Monks and your army depends on expensive mounted units or siege engines. Keep those units screened, scout for Monk positions, and combine the resistance with cavalry pressure or ranged focus fire to force the Monks back. For elephant civilizations or factions without other conversion protection, research it before committing a large force to a conversion-heavy matchup.
Risks and adaptation
Devotion does not make units immune to conversion and does not replace an escort. If the opponent has no Monks, the investment may be better spent on armor, production, or more units; keep scouting for a Monk transition.
