GUIDE · BATTLE STRATEGY
Forward base logistics
Forward production shortens reinforcement routes but needs protected builders, supplies, and a fallback.

Overview
Forward production shortens reinforcement routes but needs protected builders, supplies, and a fallback.
Plan and execution
Build behind the army screen and close enough to matter. Add only needed structures, maintain a safe reinforcement lane, and retain a home defense.
Risks and adaptation
An isolated base becomes a resource sink if the army retreats. Stop expanding it when the route cannot be defended. Rally reinforcements along a route your army can see and keep builders behind the screen. If the front moves beyond support range, stop building and fall back before losing existing production.
Decision example
A forward Barracks, Range, or Siege Workshop shortens reinforcements only if its builders and supply route survive. Place the first structure behind the army, rally new units at a safe point, and keep vision on the route from home. Repair or replace a threatened forward building only when the position still controls a useful objective. If the front shifts, relocate production instead of feeding units into a site the opponent now owns.
