Overview

Gurkhan of Persia restricts Town Center construction but rewards protecting Sabzevar’s Markets and maintaining the conditions for its regular tribute. Use a few workers to close the main approach while leaving the river route open.

Plan and execution

Assign three Villagers to build a Palisade line from the western map edge toward the lake, leaving the deliberate gap that channels attackers without provoking the navy. Protect both Sabzevar Markets so the city continues to send gold and Villagers, and keep the population conditions low enough to receive the scheduled tribute. Preserve Tokhtamysh’s unit grants by limiting the number of Kipchaks and Mangudai before each delivery. Complete the Monastery objective when you need Isfahan as a potential ally, then use the stable resource flow to reinforce the base.

Risks and adaptation

Do not wall across the lake shore; the navy can destroy that segment and waste the builders’ time. Tribute depends on the Markets, Town Center, and population conditions, so track those before training too many units.
