Jaguar Warrior anti-infantry switch

Jaguar Warrior: Jaguar Warriors are a specialist answer to infantry-heavy armies rather than a default Aztec frontline. Their anti-infantry role is strongest when the opponent’s plan relies on Champions, Halberdiers, or other foot soldiers.

Overview

Jaguar Warrior: Jaguar Warriors are a specialist answer to infantry-heavy armies rather than a default Aztec frontline. Their anti-infantry role is strongest when the opponent’s plan relies on Champions, Halberdiers, or other foot soldiers.

Plan and execution

Scout the enemy’s core unit before spending Castle resources on a Jaguar Warrior switch. Send them with a general-purpose screen to engage infantry while ranged units or siege handle targets outside their specialty. Use their faster movement to catch foot soldiers, then return to a protected position if the opponent changes composition.

Risks and adaptation

Heavy cavalry and ranged fire can punish an unsupported Jaguar Warrior force. Against mixed armies, a broader unit line may do more work; do not keep producing the specialist after the opponent has moved away from infantry.
