Overview

Nobunaga starts the hard-difficulty timer after you select a clan at the Monument. Enemies that begin as temporary allies unite against you after you defeat two, so build a strong economy before broad conquest.

Plan and execution

Inspect the clan options and select the custom tech tree and unit roster that fit the intended strategy. Secure the immediate economy and nearby resources before choosing the first two enemies to defeat. Keep a balanced army and production across the map, then prepare for the remaining clans to unite after the second victory. Use the limited diplomacy state to predict who will turn hostile and avoid leaving exposed towns behind the advancing army.

Risks and adaptation

The timer is long but finite on Hard, and passive expansion can waste it. Diplomacy is locked, so plan for the alliance break before it happens and keep enough forces at home to defend new territory.
