Opening decision and first timing
The extra starting food and wood support a smooth opening; assign them to Villager production, housing, and the first military building rather than treating them as a reason to idle the Town Center. Faster Town Center work later rewards a protected boom, and tougher Docks help a water economy survive small attacks.
Composition, counters, and transition
Savars provide a strong mounted route, while War Elephants are a specialized, costly siege-like threat. Do not commit to the latter without a safe food and gold base and protection from Monks or focused counters. Kamandaran can alter the archer resource balance in a long game; choose it when the existing production and matchup justify the switch.

Core army
Cavalry is the core strength, with the Savar providing an Imperial Age option alongside other mounted lines.
Technology & transition
Build into Castle Age cavalry while using the stronger economy to support production and upgrades.
Watch for
Strong mounted units are expensive; balance food and gold and add counters when the opponent prepares anti-cavalry units.
