Plan and execution
Advance them behind an army that can remove Pikemen and Monks, then focus one wall section or production building until the route opens. Use the extra durability to keep siege pressure moving through ranged fire, while protecting the Elephants from melee counters.
Risks and adaptation
They are vulnerable to cavalry counters and conversion despite their siege role. Do not send them through an unscouted gate or leave them without a screen, and use conventional ranged siege when a close approach is too dangerous.
