Overview
Teutons: Build toward a protected economy and use the strong Town Center and defensive options to support a patient boom. Armored infantry and Knights form the main ground force; add Monks or siege for support.
Opening decision and first timing
Cheap Farms support a steady land economy, while stronger Town Center garrisons and towers can protect an exposed resource. Use these defenses to keep Villagers working through pressure rather than retreating into an entirely passive game. Scout outer gold and Relic routes before the opponent controls them.
Composition, counters, and transition
Armored infantry and Knights form a slow but durable ground force; add siege and Monks behind them to deal with buildings or valuable enemy units. Teutonic Knights are powerful in close combat but vulnerable to being avoided or shot from range, so deploy them where they can hold a position. Ironclad improves siege survival once enough machines are in play to justify the research.
Opening priorities
Build toward a protected economy and use the strong Town Center and defensive options to support a patient boom.
Core army
Armored infantry and Knights form the main ground force; add Monks or siege for support.
Technology & transition
Use the later-age armor strengths to push behind a stable economy and fortified positions.
Watch for
Cavalry mobility upgrades and parts of the ranged roster are limited, so avoid slow pursuits and unsupported archer play.
