The Horns of Hattin relic-escort plan

The Horns of Hattin asks you to capture a Relic from the Hospitallers with two exposed bases, no Imperial Age, and no access to stone walls, towers, or Castles. Use mobile forces and terrain to protect the route instead of relying on permanent defenses.

Overview

The Horns of Hattin asks you to capture a Relic from the Hospitallers with two exposed bases, no Imperial Age, and no access to stone walls, towers, or Castles. Use mobile forces and terrain to protect the route instead of relying on permanent defenses.

Plan and execution

Use the northern camp to support the main army and the southern base to maintain Villagers, production, and gold. Scout the approaches between the bases and contest the shallows with Cavalry Archers and supporting units before moving the Relic carrier. Keep the force concentrated around the monastery route, use hit-and-run pressure to draw defenders away, and escort the Monk along a cleared path while the second base continues producing replacements.

Risks and adaptation

Palisade Walls only delay attackers, and stone cannot be turned into stronger fortifications in this scenario. Do not split the army to defend both camps equally; protect the resource and production base that can sustain the Relic attempt, then keep the carrier behind the screen.
