War Galley: War Galleys strengthen the Galley line and are a key Castle Age upgrade for a fleet that intends to control water. The improved range and combat performance become more valuable as both players add ships.
Plan and execution
Research the upgrade as the Castle Age begins if the navy remains central to the match. Group the upgraded ships, protect Fishing Ships and transports, then pressure one route or Dock at a time rather than splitting the fleet.
Risks and adaptation
A fleet upgrade does not overcome poor numbers or a bad ship matchup. Scout for Fire Ships and specialized vessels, and keep an escape route when the opponent has concentrated a larger force.
