Yeomen Briton range-investment plan

Overview

Yeomen extends the Briton foot-archer range and strengthens a Longbowman push, but its high cost makes timing important. Complete the broad ranged upgrades first, then use the added reach to pressure defended positions.

Plan and execution

Build a Longbowman mass and research Bracer before adding Yeomen. Use the range advantage to attack exposed units and buildings from safer ground, keeping the archers behind a frontline that can intercept cavalry. On a Castle push, position carefully so the firing line can threaten targets while remaining protected from siege and fast units.

Risks and adaptation

Yeomen can be expensive relative to its immediate value, especially in Castle Age. Do not delay core upgrades or a needed Age advance, and remember that range does not protect the archers from flanks or siege splash.
