2 Great Bombards

2 Great Bombards is an Industrial Age Indian Consulate technology available when the Indians choose the Ottoman alliance. It delivers two Consulate Great Bombards, converting Export and research time into heavy artillery rather than upgrading guns already in the army.

Effect & research conditions

The technology takes 30 seconds and costs 850 Export. On completion, two Consulate Great Bombards arrive. They move and fire slowly but deal heavy damage to Infantry and buildings, so their impact depends on a clear firing position and protection from units that can close on artillery.

Research condition

The Asian Dynasties; Indians; Industrial Age; Ottoman alliance at the Consulate; 30 seconds; 850 Export; delivers two Consulate Great Bombards.

When to research

Choose it when the map and objective provide a worthwhile target for heavy siege and the Indian army can screen the guns. Reserve population and space for the delivery, and plan for the slow movement before beginning a push. The option requires an Ottoman Consulate alliance and Industrial Age access, so it is not a general Indian unit-production button.

Heavy artillery with a slow response time

The delivered guns can punish Infantry and structures, but their slow movement and firing cadence make them poor emergency responders. Rally them behind a screen and choose targets before the army advances. A Great Bombard separated from its support can be intercepted before it contributes its siege damage.

A Consulate alliance and age gate

Indians must select the Ottomans at the Consulate and reach the Industrial Age before this delivery is available. Export is the technology’s listed payment. Compare it with other alliance choices and make sure the intended map has enough terrain access for the guns to reach the target.
