Araucania
Araucania is a WarChiefs map with a rectangular boundary rather than the more usual circular footprint. The longer sides and corners change the distances and approach angles between bases. Its resources and objectives are generated across that shape, so the first scout needs to cover the edges as well as the center.

Map character
Run a scouting loop that reaches the long edges and corners, noting any resource sites or routes that could support a flank. A forward position near one side may shorten access to an objective while lengthening reinforcement from the Town Center; confirm both distances before committing Settlers or production.
What to scout
Use the rectangular layout to find a route the opponent is not watching, but do not leave a long edge open to raiding. Keep mobile units available to travel between approaches and choose defenses based on actual distances rather than assuming every direction is equally close.
Cover the corners of the rectangular map
The long sides and corners change scout distance and approach angles. Sweep the perimeter as well as the center to find resources and possible flanks. A forward position can shorten access to an objective but lengthen the reinforcement route; compare both distances before moving Settlers or production.
Scout the long edges before expanding
The rectangular map shape creates longer edge routes and corner approaches than a compact circular layout. Sweep the perimeter and center to reveal resource positions and potential flanks. Before placing production near one side, compare the time to reach the objective with the distance for reinforcements to return from the Town Center.
Use the rectangular shape to plan a flank
Scout the corners early because a long edge can hide a route that a central sweep misses. Compare the distance from a proposed forward position to its objective and to the Town Center; the map geometry can make a short attack route hard to reinforce. Generated resource sites still determine the actual opening.
