When to research

Barometz can deliver up to 15 groups of Puma Spearman before the 30-minute cap. Research early enough to receive more intervals, reserve population, and keep a safe rally point so the arrivals can join the army. Use the War Hut for research. Research takes 10 seconds and costs 750 coin.

Timed Puma Spearman trickle

Barometz is an Aztec Commerce Age Big Button technology researched at the War Hut. It costs 750 Coin and takes ten seconds. After research, one Puma Spearman is delivered for every two minutes of elapsed game time, up to 30 minutes: a maximum of 15 units. The timing is based on total match length, not on time elapsed after the button is clicked. The Industrial Age Old Ways Home City Card reduces its cost to 375 Coin.

Research timing and return

Barometz rewards an earlier commitment in a match expected to continue. It becomes resource-efficient after 18 minutes, when nine Puma Spearmen have been delivered, but the army still needs time and population room to use the units. In a short game or a late research, the trickle may not repay the 750 Coin cost before the match ends. Use it when Puma Spearmen fit the army and a safe Home City gather point is available, then protect the growing shipment rather than letting the units arrive into an undefended position.
