Research condition

Definitive Edition Historical Battle; 1812; two players: Canadians and Haudenosaunee; United States is the enemy.

Objectives & rules

Coordinate the counterattack around the river objectives: one player can secure the flagged Outpost sites while the other pushes toward Queenston or rescues the trapped regulars. Establish the Lenape Trading Post if the route is safe. The rescue is time-sensitive, so agree on the first crossing and rally point before dividing the army.

Canadian and Haudenosaunee objectives

This Definitive Edition Historical Battles co-op mission is set in 1812. Two players control Canadians and Haudenosaunee against the United States, with the required objective to defeat the Americans and retake Queenston. Optional objectives are to retake Queenston Heights, build two Outposts in flagged riverbank areas, build a Trading Post at the Lenape settlement and reach trapped British regulars before they are overrun. Divide the optional tasks between players so builders and rescue forces do not leave the main army unsupported. Secure a route to the British regulars early if that objective is chosen, and place Outposts only when the riverbank can be defended. The Lenape Trading Post can provide a useful alliance, but building it is a detour from the required assault. Keep the team’s forces coordinated and watch the objective panel as the battle changes. Focus on retaking Queenston first if the American army is still strong, then complete optional map goals with the remaining force. The cooperative version uses team-specific objectives inspired by the historical battle, so its order and conditions differ from a standard skirmish.

Outposts, Lenape alliance and rescue

The optional goals can be divided so that the main assault does not lose momentum. One player can reach the trapped British regulars before they are overrun while the other secures the riverbank Outpost sites or clears a path to the Lenape settlement. Build the two Outposts only at the flagged locations, and keep defenders nearby because they are forward structures. A Lenape Trading Post establishes an alliance, so protect the builder while it is placed. Retaking Queenston Heights is another optional objective that may be easier after the American force is weakened. The required goal is to defeat the Americans and retake Queenston; optional tasks should support that outcome rather than pull both armies away. Use the riverbank and Outposts to control movement, and keep the Canadian and Haudenosaunee units working together. Track which player covers each objective and regroup before the final push.

Mission priorities

Retake Queenston is required. Optional Heights, Outposts, Lenape alliance and British rescue tasks can be divided between players once the main force is stable.

Team coordination

Retake Queenston is the required objective. Divide British rescue, riverbank Outposts and Lenape alliance tasks between players only when the main army can still secure the town.

Riverbank objectives

The two Outposts must be built in the flagged riverbank areas. Escort the builders and assign one player to protect them while the other attacks Queenston.

Coordinate the riverbank and trapped-regular objectives

The co-op goal is to defeat the Americans and retake Queenston. The team can divide optional tasks: build two Outposts near the riverbank, establish a Lenape Trading Post and reach the trapped British regulars before they are overrun. Assign one player to secure the river approaches while the other handles the Lenape route or rescue, then regroup for the town assault. Do not split the army into detachments too small to clear defenders; each task is valuable only if the team can hold its result. The co-op version shares the same 1812 battle setting as the solo Historical Battle, but coordination changes how quickly the objectives can be completed. Keep a mobile reserve that can answer an attack on either player’s position.
