Beau the Barbaric Boar
Beau the Barbaric Boar is a special pet unit from Knights of the Mediterranean in Definitive Edition. Its recorded profile lists 220 hit points, 4.5 movement speed, 20% ranged resistance, 12 hand damage, a 150 Food cost and a 17-second training time. Beau deals double damage to Treasure guardians but only one tenth of its normal damage to Villagers. This makes it a guardian-focused pet rather than an efficient raider or general-purpose combat unit.

Role, availability & values
Bring Beau to a Treasure site with an Explorer or other eligible hero and use it to help defeat the guardian. Its ranged resistance can reduce incoming ranged damage, but it does not remove the need to manage the engagement or protect the hero. After the guardian falls, collect the Treasure promptly and move the pet away from unnecessary fights.
Training & availability
Definitive Edition — Knights of the Mediterranean; pet unit; 220 hit points; 4.5 speed; 20% ranged resistance; costs 150 Food; 17-second training time; 12 hand damage; 2.0x vs Treasure guardian and 0.1x vs Villager.
Matchup & timing
Use Beau when the special unit is available and a Treasure guardian needs to be cleared. Its 150 Food cost and training time should be weighed against the reward and urgency of the objective. The low damage multiplier against Villagers is a clear reason not to send it on worker raids.
Treasure reward and age upgrades
Beau is a pet from Knights of the Mediterranean and can appear as a Treasure reward on some European maps. Its listed limit is seven; at base it costs 150 Food, trains in 17 seconds, has 220 hit points and 20% ranged resistance, and deals 12 hand damage at a 1.5-second interval. Those increases make Beau more useful as a guardian clearer later, but do not change its target modifiers: it deals 2.0 times damage to Treasure guardians and only 0.1 times damage to Villagers. Send it with the Explorer to clear a specific Treasure, then collect the reward and avoid letting it become a general-purpose raider. Pet health and damage can also be affected by eligible technologies and cards, including Maya Cotton Armor, Infantry Breastplate, Tar Kilns and Master Lessons; civilization-specific effects such as Gadaa System apply only to the named civilization. Do not assume every listed modifier is available to the player controlling Beau.
Treasure guardian pet and attack bonuses
Beau the Barbaric Boar is a special pet introduced in Knights of the Mediterranean for Definitive Edition. It has 220 hit points, 20% ranged resistance and a 12-damage hand attack with a 2× bonus against Treasure guardians. The 0.1× multiplier against Villagers makes it inefficient as a raider. Bring Beau with an Explorer or eligible hero to help clear a Treasure, and protect the expedition from other guardians or enemy troops.
Food cost and scenario availability
Where available, Beau costs 150 Food and takes 17 seconds to train. The investment is useful when a Treasure encounter can provide a meaningful return, but it competes with immediate military production. Scout the site first, complete the guardian fight and collect the reward promptly. Do not assume Beau is present in every match just because it appears in Definitive Edition; check the scenario or civilization access. Keep the pet with friendly troops afterward rather than exposing it to an army.
