Effect & research conditions
Research it at the Consulate. The technology takes 30 seconds, and its return accumulates over time after completion. It is one of the choices competing for Consulate access, so include the foregone alliance or research option when comparing its value. The Consulate and Chinese age requirements are specific to this technology’s ruleset.
Research condition
Available to Chinese from the Fortress Age. Research it at Consulate.
When to research
Choose Coin Trickle when the match is expected to continue long enough for passive income to support later units or an Age advance. It can ease pressure on Villagers to gather Coin, but it does not meet an urgent cost as soon as research begins. If an opponent is attacking or a key shipment is delayed, prioritize the Consulate option or military response that changes the next engagement.
A long-term resource stream
A trickle is paid out over time, so its total value depends on how long the Chinese player can keep the economy operating after research. It supports purchases gradually and can complement a workforce focused on Food and Wood, but it cannot meet an urgent cost immediately. Compare the 30-second delay and the Consulate opportunity cost with the expected match length. Protect the Consulate and maintain ordinary gathering until passive Coin has accumulated enough to change production.
