Darfur
Darfur is an African Royals map with desert-like terrain and an oasis in the southern part of the map. The oasis is a landmark and possible expansion area, but its value depends on resource access and the route back to the main base.

Map character
Scout the oasis and its approaches to find nearby resources and determine whether workers can reach them safely. Identify a return path before sending Settlers south, since the attraction of the landmark can expose an isolated economy.
What to scout
Expand to the oasis only when it adds useful gathering space or a position your army can protect. Keep a mobile force near the route if the opponent can contest the southern area.
Oasis, route and Gold Mines
Darfur is an arid map based on western Sudan. An oasis in the south contains three Trading Posts, while the Trade Route lies to the southwest and Gold Mines to the northeast. Teams must choose whether to secure the route, mines or oasis as the main economic objective.
Native settlements and outlaws
Berber, Sudanese and Sufi settlements lie between starting positions. Desert Archer and Desert Warrior are the named outlaws. Scout the oasis and approaches before splitting an army between route stations and mines; open terrain leaves exposed workers and posts vulnerable. Darfur is part of The African Royals.
