Role, availability & values

The wagon has 250 hit points, 4.0 speed and 20% siege resistance. It has no normal military role; once placed, it is consumed to construct the Farm. Access depends on the civilization and card setup, so it is not a universal starting unit.

Matchup & timing

Use the shipment when natural Hunts are becoming unsafe or a protected, renewable Food source will support a longer game. Choose a site close enough to workers and defenses, and keep the wagon covered during its approach.

Native shipment and edition change

The Farm Travois is a construction wagon from The WarChiefs that turns into a free Farm. Its principal strategic value is to convert a Home City shipment into renewable Food gathering after nearby Hunts become scarce or unsafe. It has 250 hit points, 4.0 speed and 20% siege resistance, but it is consumed when it places the Farm and contributes no combat strength. The WarChiefs profile grants 60 XP if the wagon is killed; Definitive Edition removed that death reward. Native civilizations with access to the relevant Home City card can use it, so its availability should be checked before planning a build around it. Send it toward a protected location where Villagers can work without crossing exposed ground, and consider whether a free Farm now is worth delaying another shipment. A safe placement can make the shipment a lasting economic asset, while an exposed route risks losing the wagon before it creates any Food income.

Economic transition planning

A Farm becomes useful when a civilization needs Food after safe wildlife is depleted, but its renewable income takes time to pay back the shipment. The Farm Travois lets eligible Native civilizations place it for free, preserving Wood for a War Hut, units or upgrades. The wagon is consumed when it builds the structure, so select a site where Villagers can work safely and where the Farm can remain active for a long stretch. The Definitive Edition removal of its 60-XP death reward also means killing it no longer provides that one-time experience to an opponent.

Free Native American Farm placement

The Farm Travois is a free-building wagon introduced in The WarChiefs and supplied through selected Home City Cards. It builds a Farm, giving the player a renewable Food source without paying the structure’s ordinary cost. The wagon has 250 hit points, four speed and 20% siege resistance. Once it places the Farm it is consumed, so its purpose is construction rather than combat or gathering.

Choose a protected gathering site

Send the Travois when natural Hunts are unsafe or a long match will benefit from renewable Food. Place the Farm near workers and defenses, and protect the wagon while it crosses contested ground. The finished Farm supports civilization-specific livestock options, which can change the economic return. Verify that the selected civilization has the relevant Home City Card and building rules before committing to this access route.
