Map character

Trace all three linked Trade Route stations and mark forest openings before choosing a position to hold. Dense trees can make reinforcement routes narrow, so check whether a forward Trading Post can be reached safely from the base. Locate nearby Hunts and Coin, then select a route segment that the army can reinforce.

What to scout

Commit to the linked route when the army can defend its stations and move through the forest without being cut off. If the force is too small to cover all three, hold one useful section and expand later. Avoid placing a forward position beyond a forest bottleneck that the opponent can close.

Dense forest and linked Trade Routes

Finland is a northern map bordering the Baltic Sea, east of the Gulf of Bothnia and north of the Gulf of Finland. Dense forests cover the region, and three Trade Routes are linked together. Oldenburg, Vasa and Sámi settlements are possible; Cossack Daredevil and Highwayman are the named outlaws.

Protect the linked route

Scout the three stations and forest openings before choosing where the army can hold ground. The linked route can reward sustained control, but trees may constrain movement and make a forward post difficult to reinforce. Avoid spreading the force too thinly across all three stations; secure a useful section and expand when the economy can support it. Finland is a Knights of the Mediterranean land map.
