Flat-bottomed Boat
The Flat-bottomed Boat is a non-combat campaign transport used in Crossing the Delaware, a scenario in Act I: Fire of The WarChiefs. It carries Nathaniel Black’s Colonial Militia and George Washington’s force across the river; it is not a standard Dock unit available in ordinary random-map matches. Its 200 hit points, 5.5 speed and 50% ranged resistance describe a transport whose value depends on reaching a safe landing, not fighting enemy ships.

Role, availability & values
The scenario boat can carry land units, but it cannot attack. Enemy fire can therefore threaten both the transport and the troops waiting to cross. Load only the force needed for the next crossing, choose a landing outside enemy concentration, and unload promptly so the passengers can fight on shore. The recorded profile lists Commerce Age availability, 100 Wood and 40 seconds, but its actual appearance is governed by the campaign scenario rather than ordinary Dock production. Treat it as a mission-specific transport and follow the scenario’s boat access instead of expecting to build one in a standard match.
Matchup & timing
Use the boat when the river blocks the direct land route and the scenario requires troops on the far bank. Scout the destination and the shore approach before loading the main force. A boat that crosses quickly but unloads into an enemy line can lose both passengers and tempo; send enough troops to secure the landing, then move the rest across. Protect the craft from hostile units and avoid leaving it exposed after unloading.
Campaign-only access and limits
The source identifies the Flat-bottomed Boat as unique to the Crossing the Delaware campaign scenario. Its transport function is its only combat contribution: it cannot attack, and the scenario’s enemy units can destroy it while troops are aboard. Plan crossings around a defended landing and use the unit as transport rather than as a naval combatant. Its scenario-only status also means generic map examples should not be used to imply it is a standard random-map ship.
