Effect & research conditions
Research costs 250 Wood and 250 Coin and takes 10 seconds. Its effect applies to buildings, not land units, ships or their attacks. The Jesuit Mission settlement is one access route; the Mexican Native Embassy is a separate route. Check that the active civilization and map provide the relevant option.
Research condition
Available from the Exploration Age. Research it at Trading Post or Tambo on a Jesuit Mission settlement or Native Embassy (Mexicans).
When to research
Research before an expected siege or when the base depends on forward structures that need to survive longer. The health increase can help production and defensive buildings withstand pressure, but it does not prevent damage or repair structures. If buildings are safe and the army needs immediate units, delay the technology.
Protect structures that support the army
Flying Buttress improves the durability of buildings across the eligible player’s position. That can preserve production during a raid or give defenders more time to respond to siege, but it does not strengthen the units inside or remove the need for field support. Research before the attack begins and keep workers available to repair or rebuild. Its two access routes are civilization-specific, so confirm whether the settlement post or Mexican Native Embassy is the valid source in the match.
